Welcome to the office of Pediatric Dental Group, a leading pediatric dental provider in Louisville. Superior oral health is vital for a child’s development, and we are here to help in every step of the way. As board-certified pediatric dentists, Dr. Bond and Dr. Ison have had extensive training in the care of children of all ages, including those with special health care needs.
We are committed to making your child’s first dental visit a pleasant and comfortable one. We understand the importance of establishing a good oral hygiene regimen early in a child’s life, and we provide the necessary knowledge and treatment to help your child maintain a healthy smile.
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Academy of Pediatrics recommend the first dental visit by the age of 12 months as studies have shown that early dental care helps prevent cavities. Over 25% of children will have cavities between 2 to 4 years of age.
If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact us.
Our office strives to make this new journey for your child a fun and rewarding experience. There is no doubt – your child’s path to optimum dental health starts here!
Along with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, we recommend that a child’s first dental visit be scheduled by his/her 1st birthday. It is very important to make the first visit as positive and enjoyable for the child as possible. We want your child to enjoy getting to know our team and be comfortable at all times! A pleasant, comfortable first visit builds trust and helps put the child at ease during future dental visits. Let your child know that the dentist and staff will explain everything in detail. Children should be encouraged to discuss any fears or anxiety they feel.
Parents, please refrain from using any words that could cause unnecessary fear, such as “needle” or “drill.” We are experienced in dealing with children with anxiety. Our team can explain treatment procedures in a positive, pleasant manner to avoid any anxious or negative feelings toward dentistry.
We will record your child’s dental and medical history, complete a comprehensive examination and discuss any findings with you. We will also review with you and your child the importance of maintaining a good at-home oral hygiene routine to ensure that your child keeps a healthy, beautiful smile for life!
