Extra Care Signs From Your Dog

Extra Care for Your Dog

Right now, your dog is running around outside. enjoying the good weather and exercise. He or she is barking and wagging his or her tail with glee. Things seem normal, right? Well, according to Pet Cube, your dog may be crying out for extra attention.

Extra Care Sign #1: The Whining Phase

You may think that when your dog is whining, barking, or howling that they're just begging for food like a baby does when it's first born. However, these same cries could also mean that your dog may need a little extra tender, love, and care. This type of miscommunication is common with first-time dog owners, just like it would be for a first-time parent. Once you recognize your dog's behavioral patterns, you'll start to see that all your pet needs are some owner-and-me time.

Sign #2: The Digging Phase

Dogs dig holes for fun, or so they say. Sometimes, dogs bring this kind of behavior in the home―destroying carpets, scratching up wood floors, and even tearing up your closet. You may think this is another normal behavior that happens every now and then, but more than likely that is not the case. This could be another sign that your dog may need some extra care. Instead of spending all your time in your office typing away on your laptop, take a few minutes every now and then to show your dog some love.

Sign #3: The Potty Trained Phase

Finally, dogs urinate and defecate inside the home instead of waiting to be taken outside sometimes. Many owners assume this is the dog's way of being disobedient, but once again this may not always be true. Some dogs do this to grab their owner's attention, even if it means negative backlash. Take your dog outside as much as possible, just to create some extra bonding time. If your dog is potty trained, urinating or defecating inside the home may also be a sign of a health problem. If behaviors like this persist, it is recommended that you take your dog to a local vet for treatment.
